Understanding How Amazon Works at Norwich Copies Plus
This article will cover two major points: Amazon programs available at our store, and how to return items to Amazon using our store as a UPS Drop Off. We’ll try to be brief, but helpful - so keep reading!
What Amazon programs does Norwich Copies Plus participate in?
Norwich Copies Plus participates in two Amazon programs: Amazon Pick Up Drop Off (PUDO) and Amazon Counter. These programs allow you to have your Amazon packages delivered to Norwich Copies Plus for safekeeping until you’re ready to pick it up. Amazon compensates our store for this service, so you do not need to pay our store to pick up your package. Adding our address to your address list and having your packages delivered to our store bypasses these programs. In these cases your items fall under our store package holding fees (typically $2-$5 per parcel depending on size). Check out the screenshots below to see what “PUDO” looks like when checking out on Amazon (you can click on the pictures to make them larger).
Returning Amazon Items at Norwich Copies Plus
Our store is considered a UPS Drop Off, which is different than The UPS Store (TUPSS), which are franchise stores affiliated with UPS. At this time, we cannot scan Amazon QR codes as a retail shipping store. QR code limitations are set by companies and out of our control. Some Amazon customer service representatives have a hard time understanding Norwich does not have “The UPS Store.”
Because we are a UPS Drop Off you should reuse your original packaging. We have used and new packaging available for purchase if needed.
For a smooth drop off experience we recommend you print your label and tape your package up so it’s “ready to ship.” No printer at home? Email your label to us! Currently there is no charge for printing labels or taping Amazon returns, but we reserve the right to charge our typical label and taping fee in the future (25 cents/label; 25 cents for most tape jobs).
Frequently Asked Questions
What do you charge for Amazon returns?
Amazon may charge you for shipping the return which is typically deducted from your refund. Amazon’s charges generally correspond with the return reason. For example, if you simply don’t want the item anymore (“Item no longer needed”) Amazon may charge between $5-$7 for return shipping. If the item was defective or the seller provided a poor description (“Inaccurate website description”) then Amazon may waive your return shipping charge. These are Amazon’s policies and subject to change. Our website should not be considered the most up-to-date resource for Amazon policies.
I have more than one item, can I just pack everything in one box and use one label?
We advise you use the labels that correspond with each item as some items are returned to different Amazon locations. This is important to receive credit for the return and your refund.
Can I use two labels on one package?
Our agreements with FedEx and UPS state we will use one label per package. We risk receiving carrier penalties for going against our agreements, and you risk not getting your refund when trying to consolidate items into one package. This applies even if Amazon sent you multiple items in one box.
If multiple items are being returned from the same order, select all those items when processing your return. If Amazon wants them returned to the same location, they will provide you a single label and list each item in the “packing slip” portion of the return instructions.
